2013 Record Year for Chi Film Industry

The Governor’s office announced that 2013 was a record year for the Illinois film industry, which generated $358 million in spending, resulting in more than 4,200 full-time equivalent jobs.

Much of that success was due to the production of 6 television series in and around Chicago, as well as a number of high profile films, such as Transformers 4, Divergent and Jupiter Ascending.

You can watch Governor Quinn’s press conference from the set of Chicago Fire below or go here to read more about the record year for Chicago-area filmmaking.
