This May, Andrea Green (class of 2010) received her Masters degree from the School of Information and Library Sciences at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Befitting a former film student, her research at UNC focused on the preservation and archiving of collaborative, online film projects, such as wreckamovie.com or the Joseph Gordon-Levitt led project hitRECord.
While in school, Andrea worked as a graduate assistant at the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center, which partners with institutions across the state to digitize, preserve and publish a variety of historical materials, ranging from old yearbooks, to newspapers, scrapbooks, photographs, war letters, and more. In addition, she worked with the UNC Media Resource Center librarian to develop a comprehensive plan for streaming media services and products. This includes products that stream educational videos across disciplines (documentaries, interviews, newscasts, Shakespeare performances, etc).
In her free time, Andrea is a regular attendee at area film festivals, and has served as a volunteer for the prestigious Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
